Performers:

Daniel Conant, guitar

Guitarist Daniel Conant enjoys a burgeoning career as a performing, recording, and teaching artist in New York City. Daniel’s playing has been heard at venues such as Weill Recital Hall, Symphony Space, and the Morgan Library & Museum. He has performed internationally in Italy, Austria, Belgium, Mexico, and Canada, where he was a prizewinner at the Hamilton International Guitar Competition. Recently, he has appeared in concerts hosted by the Ekmelic Society in Salzburg, Austria, The Village Trip Festival in NYC; and the Staunton Music Festival in Virginia. A champion of new music, Daniel has premiered works by composers Alba Potes, William Anderson, and Jonathan Dawe, among others. In October 2023, he released his first album, a program of music for flute, viola, and guitar. His second album, Bed of Creeks and Coils, was released in August 2026 on New Focus Recordings.

James Rensink, piano

James Rensink is a world renowned musician who has performed in over 25 countries, and each of the fifty United States, with many of the world’s best known artists. While he has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center and many famous venues, Mr. Rensink is one of the only artists ever to be heard at Lincoln Center as a leading baritone, pianist, composer and conductor. Among his honors is a special citation from the Congress of the United States and his selection to be the classical artist for the dedication of the Flight 93 memorial in Shanksville PA on its tenth anniversary. Having sung over seventy roles, he has premiered more than twenty roles in contemporary opera. In a recent season, he sang the Mozart Requiem with members of the Vienna Philharmonic, had his arrangements premiered in Vienna with the Pitten Classics festival, sang Scarpia in Tosca and played Rhapsody in Blue with the New York Wind Symphony. He also appeared in concert with many principals from the N.Y. Phil., The Met Opera orchestra, and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s.

Mr. Rensink curtailed his worldwide travels to raise his triplet sons; Nate, Jake and Alex. The only set of triplets ever to be admitted to the Juilliard School Pre-College Division, they all went on to study at McGill University in Montreal with principal brass players in the Montreal symphony. He has appeared in solo recital with each of his sons at Lincoln Center.
