CreArt Box , a nonprofit arts organization specialize in creating and producing live art performances that seamlessly blend classical and contemporary music with original concepts driven by multidisciplinary collaboration. Its initiatives are designed to support professional artists, encourage the creation of new meaningful work, make world-class performances accessible to everyone regardless of background or economic circumstance, inspire and educate future generations, revitalize local communities, and nurture new ways of human expression. It has been celebrated by The New Yorker as one of its “art and music top picks”, and by Time Out as an “ensemble devoted to multidisciplinary events”. Through thoughtfully designed programs, CreArtBox strives to cultivate an appreciation for the arts in today’s society. In 2023, this organization celebrates its 10th anniversary season and has solidified its presence as a leading force in the world of classical and contemporary music and a hub of creativity in New York City.
Josefina Urraca, co-director of CreArt Box and Festival ADAR, is a Spanish pianist whose restless and dynamic temperament has brought her to many of the world’s most important music schools in cities such as Madrid, Paris, London and New York, having learnt from great musicians, like her main piano teachers and mentors Dmitri Bashkirov, Maria Joao Pires, Ferenc Rados, Patrín García Barredo, Claudio Martínez-Menher, Josep Colom, Kennedy Moretti, Frank Wibaut, Eva Gigosos, and Guigla Katsarava. In her extensive academic career she has studied at some worldwide renowned music schools such as: Salamanca Conservatory, Alcalá de Henares University, L’École Normale Supérieure de Musique “Alfred Cortot” in Paris, Reina Sofía Music School in Madrid, and Manhattan School of Music.
Guillermo is the co-founder, executive director and co-artistic director at CreArt Box, Inc. A Spanish flutist, composer, designer, multimedia creator, and entrepreneur based in New York City and Asturias, Spain, Laporta’s artistic work presents multidisciplinary connections between music, theater, dance and video.
Guillermo founded the organization in New York City in 2013 with pianist Josefina Urraca. The CreArtBox originated in Europe in 2006 as “Cre.Art Project” founded by Guillermo Laporta and the clarinetist and performance creator, Tagore Gonzalez. Guillermo Laporta’s academic achievements include a Master’s degree in Music Performance from the Royal College of Music in London, UK, in 2010, a Master’s degree in Arts Management from Alcala de Henares University in Madrid, Spain, earned in 2009, and a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance, also from the Royal College of Music in London, UK, awarded in 2008.

For almost one hundred twenty-five years the Chaminade Music Club of Yonkers has worked to promote and encourage the love and appreciation of music. Founded in the Park Hill neighborhood of Yonkers in 1895, the name Chaminade was chosen in honor of Madame Cecile Chaminade, a well known French composer who specialized in piano and voice. Ever since, the club has been organized around live music performances and music appreciation.
