“Master & Commander: The Far Side of the World” (2003, 138 mins) follows a British naval Captain Jack Aubrey and his crew as they experience both boredom and intense battle as they play a game of cat and mouse with a French ship during the Napoleonic Wars. With historian commentary by Chad Johnson of New Windsor Cantonment State Historic Site and librarian and historian Matthew Thorenz, who will reveal the historical accuracies and inaccuracies of the film and how true it is to the novel of the same name by Patrick O'Brian.

This program is free and open to the public. Seating is first come, first served. Registration is recommended but not required. Show starts promptly at 7:00 PM. Doors open at 6:00 PM. Museum open 10 am to 5 pm. Refreshments provided by the Friends of Philipse Manor Hall.
