Yonkers Arts Weekend at Philipse Manor Hall

Philipse Manor Hall State Historic Site is the oldest building in Yonkers. The oldest part of the house dates back to the 1680s. Once home to four generations of the Philipse family, it not hosts a state-of-the-art museum exhibit: “Our Whole History,” which chronicles the history of the site and Colonial New York from First Contact to the present, highlighting stories of Indigenous Munsee Lunaape people, European colonists, including the Philipses, and enslaved Africans, all of whom lived and worked in Yonkers and Westchester County. The exhibits include a special art exhibition featuring descendants from each of the three communities: Indigenous, European, and African, including a piece by local Yonkers artist Richard Haas.

10:30 AM - Free Waterfront Walking Tour

Explore the Yonkers waterfront from the 17th century to the present in this guided one mile loop walking tour. Tour departs at Philipse Manor Hall front entrance.

1:00 PM - Free Cinco De Mayo Flower Making Workshop

Join artist Ardina Seward for this family-friendly art workshop inspired by the flowers of Mexico in celebration of Cinco de Mayo. You are invited to make paper flowers and vases out of a variety of colorful materials using a variety of techniques. Free for everyone, all ages welcome! All materials provided, registration not required.

Ardina Seward started her art career at age six painting on her mother’s kitchen cabinets. She has been painting and drawing ever since.

1:30 PM - Free Waterfront Walking Tour

Explore the Yonkers waterfront from the 17th century to the present in this guided one mile loop walking tour. Tour departs at Philipse Manor Hall front entrance.
